JOB SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer, this position will direct the Tribe’s primary government’s financial planning, financial management and accounting practices as well as its relationship with government agencies, banking and lending institutions, investment managers, insurers, the financial community and Tribal members by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate managers. Provides support to executive management and the Tribal Council in developing and implementing overall Tribal strategic direction for financial policies and objectives.

REQUIREMENTS/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics or a closely related field; advanced degree or professional accounting certification (i.e., CPA, CMA, CGFM) preferred.
  2. Requires a minimum of ten (10) years of financial, accounting and supervisory experience with the last three- (3) years at the executive management level.
  3. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to management, government officials, and general membership of the Tribe and to the general public.
  4. Must be familiar with accounting, management and office software systems. Familiarity with SQL based accounting and management systems preferred.
  5. Must possess a valid California driver’s license, or ability to obtain one, and ability to qualify for the Tribe’s vehicle insurance.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  1. Provides direct management to the Tribal Finance Division including accounting, budgeting, grant compliance, financial reporting, internal controls, investment management, debt placement, banking and treasury, audit, procurement, property management and risk management.
  2. Participates in the development and recommendations of financial policy, plans and strategies, and budgets.
  3. Assists with Tribal Council and Chief Executive Officer to plan business objectives, and to coordinate functions, operations and financing between Tribal business entities and Tribal government divisions and departments. Alerts Chief Executive Officer and Tribal Council of any financial trends or situations requiring attentions and actions.
  4. Represents the Finance Department at General Council meetings of the Tribal membership and at Tribal Government/Tribal Council meetings.
  5. Determine the need for expert assistance and facilitate the search and selection of outside institutions necessary to the Tribe, including financial institutions, insurance and risk management carriers and professionals, auditors and others necessary for effective fiscal management and recommend selection where appropriate.
  6. Assists Tribal Council and the Chief Executive Officer to maintain and improve long range strategic plans for the overall Tribal entity in general and the primary government in particular. Maintains and regularly updates a five year revenue forecast.
  7. Provides technical assistance and oversight to subordinate organizations in the development and maintenance of fiscal management capacity and ensures the adequacy of fiscal management policies and systems implemented by them.
  8. Plans, organizes, directs and evaluates the performance of assigned staff; establishes performance requirements and personal development targets; makes decisions on compensation and other rewards to recognize performance; takes disciplinary action, up to and including termination, to address performance deficiencies, in accordance with Redding Rancheria personnel rules and policies.

Medical Records Technician I

JOB SUMMARY:

The Wellness Coordinator is responsible for the development, implementations, and oversight of wellness programs at the Redding Rancheria that promote a healthy lifestyle for employees, Tribal Members, and their families. This role involves planning, coordinating, and evaluating wellness initiatives designed to support physical, emotional, mental, and social wellbeing.

REQUIREMENTS/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelor’s degree preferred in exercise science or a related area.
  2. CPR/AED certification.
  3. 1 to 3 years of clerical experience.
  4. Be dependable, reliable and possess organizational skills.
  5. Possession a valid and current California Driver’s License.
  6. Must have reliable transportation.
  7. Possess two to five years current experience working directly with health and wellness promotion programs. Experience working with corporate wellness is highly desirable.
  8. To perform this job successfully, an individual should possess intermediate level knowledge of personal computers and software including Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Publisher in addition to proficiency with Internet Explorer. Working knowledge of Access helpful but not required.

JOB SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Sr. Director of Human Resources, performs a variety of office support and/or secretarial duties for the Human Resources Department. Incumbent will compose and process a variety of standard documents and correspondence, replaying telephone inquiries, process forms, draft Human Resources communications, and properly filing, maintaining, and retrieving all personnel files.

REQUIREMENTS/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Must possess a valid and current CDL.
  2. 1 to 3 years of clerical experience.
  3. Computer skills and experience with a variety of word processing and spreadsheet software.
  4. Demonstrated typing skills of 30-40 wpm or more and the ability to operate office equipment
  5. Must pass background screening.
  6. Must pass pre-employment drug screening.
  7. Indian preference.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  1. Assist Senior Director of Human Resources with all manners of administrative support.
  2. Assist the Human Resources department in all manners of administrative support.
  3. Process and handle all department requisitions.
  4. Maintain Senior Director and Human Resources Manager mail, calendar, voicemail, etc.
  5. Assists in writing communications for the HR department, such as drafting email communications to all staff.
  6. Maintains and files personnel forms for physical files as well as electronic maintenance (Docstar) of employment files, both active and terminated.
  7. Keep record of all signed Human Resources contracts, both digital and physical.
  8. Maintain file retrieval system (Hemsted) and process requests regarding retrieval, pick-up and shred for the Tribal Office.
  9. Serves as relief to the Tribal Receptionist performing all duties and responsibilities assigned to that position.
  10. Review, respond and maintain the Human Resources email.
  11. Assist in coordinating events and helping during department events.
  12. Sort, screen, and distribute incoming and outgoing mail related to the Human Resources Department. Assist Senior Director with preparation of and organization of annual reviews.
  13. Processes Employee Recognitions.
  14. Oversees Employee of the Month nominations, awards, and coordination of notification.
  15. Facilitates New Employee Breakfasts.
  16. Assists Senior Director with power point presentations.
  17. Maintain a high level of confidentiality at all times.
  18. Sets up Zoom meetings for Senior Director.

Administrative Assistant I – Education

The Redding Rancheria is seeking an Administrative Assistant I – Education. The preferred schedule for this position is Monday through Thursday, 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM.

JOB SUMMARY:

Provide a wide variety of complex secretarial and administrative support for Education Director and department programs.

REQUIREMENTS/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Must have High School diploma or equivalent i.e. (GED) or experience.
  2. Demonstrated experience in Native American education programs.
  3. Must be fingerprinted, pass background check, drug test and DMV clearance, including valid CDL.
  4. Indian Preference.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

1. Assist the Education Director in all manners of administrative support to include maintaining calendar of meetings, appointments, and distributing individual task lists to co-staff for education events.

2. Responsible for the youth and adult tutoring program, including: ensuring potential tutors pass the level 4 background check, executing tutoring contracts and circulating for approval, processing tutoring time sheets and ensuring accuracy, making payments for tutoring services either directly or by way of reimbursement.

3. Responsible for processing report cards using the quarter, trimester and semester point systems and providing incentive checks to all school aged tribal member children.

4. Work alongside the Education Director to coordinate youth leadership sessions including scheduling rooms and session leaders, paying for services, ordering meals, purchasing supplies for each session and tracking student participation.

5. Works alongside the Youth Advocate to determine themes and décor for all educational events.

6. Responsible for assigned clerical/secretarial duties. i.e. – Doc Star, copying, filing, sorting, compose flyers for mailing regarding trips/educational workshops/career opportunities, purchase inventory, order supplies, etc.

7. Assist Education Director and Advocates with coordinating events for all education programs and events as assigned, such as but not limited to monthly youth activities, the annual youth Christmas party, education banquet, the 12-month youth leadership program, college prep, etc.

8. Responsible for input and upkeep of the departments tribal member database and project management database.

9. Record, prepare and maintain records of minutes for meetings such as departmental and committee.

10. Write up and submit in a timely manner a newsletter article for each education event/session as well as including photos for those articles. Take photos at each education event/session.

11. Assist in researching information for administrative reports and educational opportunities.

12. Assist Education Director in reviewing and monitoring budgets for Education Programs.

13. Assist with Johnson O’Malley School Supply Assistance intake process for applications as well as calling families to pick up gift cards.

14. Assist Education Director with Redding Rancheria Community Education Fund scholarship application process, interview scheduling with Council Committee, processing of payment to schools, etc.

15. Work with Education Director on policies and procedures for department.

16. Track, maintain and monitor department strategic planning goals and log sheets for department programs and individual student files with Education Director.

17. As mandated, identify and report suspected child abuse to proper authorities following established guidelines. Ensures safety of children at all times during department events/sessions.

18. Crosstrain in all areas of the Education Department.

19. Provide coverage to co-staff when necessary

20. Collect and organize information about students in order to develop and implement future changes to tribal educational programs.

21. Identify and select at risk students and work with them and/or their parents to create academic goals.

22. Inform and encourage tribal youth and adults about career and educational opportunities within the Redding Rancheria and its entities.

23. Research Tribal and community services for referral. Research training and conferences that motivate students to do better in school and help keep interests and attitudes high.

Custodian

The Redding Rancheria is seeking a Custodian. The preferred schedule for this position is Monday- Friday 3:30 pm to 12:30 am.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Custodian performs a variety of general cleaning and custodial work.

REQUIREMENTS/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 6 months of building cleaning experience preferred
  • Must have current CDL, and have current DMV clearance.

  1. Sweep, dust, mop, scrub, and vacuum.
  2. Dust, wax, wash and polish furniture and woodwork.
  3. Wash windows, walls, window shades and windowsills, ledges and Venetian blinds.
  4. Clean heating and air conditioning ventilators.
  5. Clean and dust books and shelves and polish metal work.
  6. Clean and disinfect rest rooms.
  7. Empty and clean waste receptacles.
  8. Turn out lights and lock doors and windows: activate alarm system as required.
