10. Create a file for each Tribal Member student utilizing youth benefit programs for tracking purposes.

11. Collect and organize information about students in order to develop and implement future changes to tribal educational programs.

12. Identify and select at risk students (youth or adult) and work with them and/or their parents to create academic goals

13. Inform and encourage the Tribal youth and adults about career and educational opportunities within the Redding Rancheria and its entities

14. Research Tribal and community services for referral

15. Research training and conferences that motivate students to do better in school and help keep interests and attitudes high

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  1. Develop, implement and maintain an independent Audit Program for the Gaming Commission’s Compliance Audit Plan utilizing the current audit procedures manual.
  2. Select, verify and analyze transactions for audit projects based on defined criteria.
  3. Verify policies and procedures are in compliance with applicable Federal, State and Redding Rancheria Laws, Rules and Regulations.
  4. Review transactions, documents, records, reports and methods utilized for accuracy and effectiveness.
  5. Develop audit reports and express recommendations for the correction of non-compliance issues. Submit audit results for review.
  6. Follow-up on previous areas of corrective actions were implemented.
  7. Review and evaluate compliance exception issues provided by external and internal sources, e.g. Commission members, and audit functions.
  8. Perform required independent MIC’s and TIC’s audits in a timely manner.
  9. Perform random department audits and develop internal audit forms and procedures.
  10. Coordinate annual audit with external auditors.
  11. Keep inventory of all Gaming machines including their location on the gaming floor.
  12. Insure all new games meet or beat all internal controls regulations, etc.

  14. Assist in the investigation process, when improprieties are identified, furnished and providing testimony as needed/required.

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for developing, monitoring, implementing, and evaluating the tribes various energy and emergency assistance programs. Staff person will be responsible for prioritizing and registering energy and emergency assistance applications, scanning applications into electronic filing system and assisting with crisis energy program coordination as needed.

  2. One year of work experience in a position performing clerical functions in an office/service organization setting.

  13. Promote the program in the Tribes service area through networking, public speaking, media relations, attendance/presentation at community functions.
  14. Provide ongoing monitoring and evaluation of program effectiveness including goal achievement and outcomes.
  15. Coordinate Tribal agency participation in Spring and Fall fairs including organizing weatherization kits, providing domestic violence safety planning brochure, coordinating tasks with community partners and working with vendors to obtain donations.

REQUIREMENTS/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Must possess a valid and current CDL.
  2. 1 to 3 years of clerical experience.
  3. Computer skills and experience with a variety of word processing and spreadsheet software.

Accountant I – Purchasing Specialist

The Redding Rancheria is seeking a Accountant I – Purchasing Specialist. The preferred schedule for this position is Monday- Thursday 8 am to 5:30 pm and Friday 8 am – 12 pm.

JOB SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Controller this position performs a variety of accounting support functions for the Redding Rancheria Tribal Government Finance Department. Performs all duties associated with the purchasing cycle and is responsible for ordering and tracking of packages and inventory of assets. Interacts with staff, Tribal Members, and vendors on a daily basis for the Redding Rancheria and serves as the primary backup to the Accountant I-Accounts Payable Specialist.

REQUIREMENTS/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. 2 year degree in accounting or a minimum of 5 years of experience in similar accounting positions.
  2. Must pass pre-employment drug screening.
  3. Indian preference.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  1. Perform any of the following accounting tasks: accounts payable, purchasing and procurement.
  2. Date stamps and reviews all purchase orders and attached invoices for completion, including appropriate account coding, proper signing authority, and dollar amount approved for the Redding Rancheria.
  3. Researches and/or obtains best pricing for products requested on purchase orders
  4. Works with purchase order requester to ensure appropriate items, quantities, and shipment terms are met
  5. Acts as a liaison between approved signers and vendors in settling discrepancies with invoicing, payment, and/or product received
  6. Responsible for, manages, reconciles, and processes account and credit card orders for goods and services through phone, email, and internet order as requested by receipt of approved purchase order

  8. Maintains credit card checking out process and pre-paid voucher files.
  9. Reconciles Accounts Payable credit card monthly
  10. Monitors, responds and takes action on communication emailed to purchasing@reddingrancheria-nsn.gov and ap@reddingrancheria-nsn.gov in the Accounts Payable Specialist absence.
  11. Maintains all contracts and sets up vendor information in MIP with appropriate Tax ID, contact information, remit address, payment/discount terms, locality, and account coding information. Maintains vendor W-9 file
  12. Assists in the year end reconciliation and preparation of 1099 forms as requested by the Controller.
  13. Reviews voucher cover sheet by checking vendor, coding, amount, accounting period, 1099 details, remit address, and payment terms to be sure all information is accurately recorded. Makes corrections as needed
  14. Maintains general office supply inventory and performs monthly inventory of supplies on hand
  15. Delivers and picks up Redding Rancheria property from off-site locations as approved by the Assistant Controller, the Controller, or the Chief Financial Officer.
  16. Responsible for tracking of vendor contracts and vehicle fleet maintenance.
  17. Assist with all Departmental needs in reference to filing and scanning documents
  18. Compile and sort documentation
  19. Verify and prepare working papers to support the details of business transactions.
  20. Ensure proper accounting in accordance with the established policies and procedures.
