Redding Rancheria is seeking a full-time Recovery Administrative Assistant. Working under the supervision of the Recovery Director, the Recovery Administrative Assistant II performs a variety of office and clinical support including staffing the Recovery Department front office, greeting patients warmly and answering patient / community phone calls and inquiries, as well as patient care such as rooming, vitals, and medical assisting for the Recovery Providers. The Recovery Administrative Assistant will be responsible for scheduling appointments, managing internal and external referrals, and assisting the Director on special projects and assignments (example: outreach events, PowerPoint presentations, data entry, purchasing and organizing supplies). This position requires a working knowledge and ability to utilize all aspects of Microsoft office and NextGen PM and EHR.

REQUIREMENTS/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate Degree in a related field preferred.
  • Certification as Medical Assistant. Be in possession of valid and current California Driver’s License.
  • CPR certification required.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Serves as the information and communication hub for the Recovery Department.
  2. Works with the Leadership Team to foster interdepartmental cooperation, and shared vision to problem solving.
  3. Responsible for the readiness of all common areas of the department for each working day, and have all front desk activities fully operational at the start and end of business hours.
  4. Greets patients and visitors with friendliness, in person or on the telephone, answering or referring inquiries, screening and directing patients to appropriate staff.
  5. Assist with new patient enrollment procedures, evaluating and communicating patient eligibility and options. Filing / processing documents, medical records, and referrals as needed.
  6. Maintaining Recovery Providers schedules. Scheduling patient appointments according to provider preference. Checking patients in and out of appointments.
  7. Maintains diversion tracking and calls to set up appointments per the diversion policy.
  8. Works as a Medical Assistant roughly 20-25% of their time; including rooming patients, vitals, documenting nursing notes, and collecting/ sending urine toxicology per clinic policies.
  9. Setting up Zoom meetings, and telehealth appointments as necessary.
  10. Answers all incoming calls and checks voicemails routinely, as well as triage calls according to policy. Must return all patients calls within 24 hours (Monday- Friday).
  11. Completes appointment reminder calls for all recovery services.
  12. Organizes and maintains paper and electronic records and documents, including distribution and communication of required data and information using telephones, postal mail, fax and email. This includes creating and maintaining a paperless environment to the extent possible and maintaining departmental files.
  13. Manages department special projects; maintains multiple calendars for the department, arranges meetings, conferences, teleconferences, presentations, travel, creates agendas, takes minutes of meetings, etc.
  14. Create, edit or proof Recovery marketing materials (flyers, brochures, calendars) and various reports or presentations in support of the department activities.
  15. Maintains department supplies and materials inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed materials & supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies, and distribution as needed
  16. Sort, screen and distribute incoming and outgoing mail related to Recovery team and CCHC staff.
  17. Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by respecting and maintaining the privacy and dignity of patients, assuring client confidentiality at all times.
  18. To perform all the above mentioned duties with a warm outgoing personality, excellent telephone and personal etiquette.

Recovery Case Manager

The Redding Rancheria is seeking a Recovery Case Manager.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Recovery Case Manager will be part of the Recovery Program team and work directly with the Recovery patients and staff to effectively link patients to treatment options and other social services. The Case Manager will help patients navigating the healthcare system by providing case management, care coordination, outreach, support and linkage to care. The Case Manager may also provide health education services in the community to promote RRTHS services in Shasta and Trinity County, including assistance with the planning and operations of the syringe services program. The Case Manager will also be trained to assist as needed with other programs and services hosted by the recovery program. This is a versatile position that may require working in the field and with various departments within RRTHS.

REQUIREMENTS/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  •  Bachelor’s Degree in social work, psychology, public health, or related field required.

Substance Abuse Counselor I

JOB SUMMARY:

The Behavioral Health Substance Abuse Counselor shall develop and maintain an outpatient treatment program and facilitate group meetings for individuals affected by substance use.
Treatment services should focus on engaging the client in health strategies to reduce persistent behavioral health and alcohol drug problems for Native American individuals, families, and their communities. The substance abuse treatment counselor shall provide clinical substance abuse counseling services through treatment modalities such as crisis intervention, individual and group counseling to educate, prevent or improve psychosocial problems, particularly pertaining to substance use.

REQUIREMENTS/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • CCAPP Certification
  •  Minimum of 2 years experience in drug and alcohol related field.
  •  Knowledge of Federal, State, County and local resource systems (ie. Med-Cal, Medicare, Substance Abuse Programs).
  •  Typing and computer skills.
  •  Must pass background assessment of moral character and legal status. Must submit to fingerprint identification with law enforcement and be able to work with children.
  •  Must demonstrate emotional stability, independent judgement, and initiative in professional activities and relationships with clients and co-workers.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Provides supportive individual education and counseling services to address sobriety.
  •  Facilitates group treatment and education programs including but not limited to- after care, 12 step, and talking circles.
  •  Develops treatment plans and objectives to achieve client’s desired outcome based on type/severity of problem(s).
  •  Determines treatment interventions and establishes goals needed to achieve objectives.
  •  Performs drug and alcohol screenings and/or assessments.

Medical Scribe- Churn Creek Healthcare

JOB SUMMARY:

Medical Scribes are individuals trained in medical documentation who assist a provider throughout their shift. The primary goal is to increase the efficiency and productivity of the physician. It will be the responsibility of the Medical Scribe to annotate any dictated or written information for the treatment of patients following all local, state and federal guidelines for documentation into the electronic health record system. The Medical Scribe will be responsible for clearly recording each patient’s symptoms, history, physical exam and documenting the diagnosis. This position will have no direct involvement in patient care but has an interdepartmental role in assisting nursing and front office staff.

REQUIREMENTS/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • One year experience in healthcare field or minimum 2 year of college education with Medical Terminology, Anatomy and Physiology coursework/degree.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • The primary role of the Medical Scribe is to assist the clinician with documentation of each patient’s medical chart during his or her visit.
  • Accompanies the clinician into the patient examination area in order to transcribe a history and physical examination as given by the patient and physician.
  • Documents any procedures performed by the clinician or nurses, on the electronic medical chart.
  • Is an expert in the use of various templates and documentation techniques available in the EHR system, and use these tools efficiently so individual encounters can be well documented, as well as accurately congregate data collected for statistical reports.
  • Transcribes any consultations or discussions with family members and/or the clinician.
  • Completes the patient’s chart by transcribing results of any labs, x-rays, or other evaluations. In doing so, the scribe continuously checks on the progress of this data in order to get the patient’s workup complete so that the clinician is able to make his or her decisions regarding that patient.
  • Lists all proper diagnoses as well as any follow up instructions and prescriptions, as dictated by the clinician.

JOB SUMMARY:

Coordinate referrals from Redding Rancheria Tribal Health Systems to other health care providers for patient care that is not performed at the Health Center. Referrals are made to providers such as physicians, diagnostic facilities, radiology, laboratories, and hospitals.

REQUIREMENTS/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Experience with pre-authorization process for 3rd Party payers.
  • Medical Terminology
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screening.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Receive referrals/requests from providers through the EHR and schedule outside care as indicated.
  • Provide information to patients regarding referral provider name, address and phone number to allow patients to call to schedule appointment. Acquire pertinent records, labs, x-rays, diagnostic tests and health summaries related to the patient’s current condition from the medical records; forward information to the specialist or facility involved.
  • Instruct and prepare patient for diagnostic procedures per clinic protocol or as instructed by provider.
  • Enter referral data, and insurance information into EHR and data mining program (i2i).
  • Track all referrals sent out to ensure completion of care and receipt of related documentation. All data to be entered into the i2i system and regular reports to be generated for review by the Health Operations Director.
  • Maintain all required data in the i2i system to comply with clinic, state and federal mandates.
  • Request medical records/other additional information from outside healthcare facilities.
  • Respond to authorized requests for information by outside healthcare facilities
  • Receive outside records and scan to appropriate EHR patient file.
  •  Scan all ‘in house’ forms and documents to the appropriate EHR patient file.
  • Track all stored historical paper charts and shred as per policy as they time out.
  • Perform other related duties as needed.
