Medication Transporter

The Redding Rancheria is seeking a Temporary Medication Transporter. This position may work a maximum of 28 hours per week and is employed in a temporary capacity.

JOB SUMMARY:

Under direction of the Director of Pharmacy this position: Packages medication for mailing and delivery, as well as, delivers medications to eligible patients within a 30 mile radius of the Redding Rancheria Tribal Health Center.

REQUIREMENTS/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Valid California driver’s license, a clean driving record and be insurable by Redding Rancheria’s insurance company.
  2. Must complete the following within one month of hire; Certified GSA Driver Training.
  3. Must complete tuberculosis test.
  4. Must be fingerprinted and pass background investigation.
  5. Must pass pre-employment drug screening.
  6. Indian preference.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  1. Keep detailed daily records on mileage in an Excel Spreadsheet for government reimbursement.
  2. At the end of each day, complete a daily log on the computer of all times, mileage and destinations of the patients transported.
  3. Maintain government vehicle cleanliness inside and out for weekly inspections.
  4. Take government vehicle for any needed maintenance as outlined in the Preventative Maintenance Procedures.
  5. Package medications for both mail and delivery
  6. Use of cash registers at point of sale
  7. Use computer to purchase postage for mailed medications

Staff Pharmacist

The Redding Rancheria is seeking a Staff Pharmacist. The preferred schedule for this position is Monday- Friday 8:30 am to 5:30 pm.

JOB SUMMARY:

This individual will be responsible for providing quality pharmaceutical care five days a week in the Pharmacy Department retail setting. You will fill, verify, counsel and follow prescription protocols in accordance with the standards and practices mandated by the California Board of Pharmacy.

REQUIREMENTS/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited school of Pharmacy.
  • Current and valid California Pharmacy License.
  • Basic computer and typing skills
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screening.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  1. Fill, verify, counsel and follow prescription protocols in accordance with the standards and practices mandated by the California State Board of Pharmacy
  2. Assure appropriateness of drug therapy, including interactions and allergies.
  3. Verify patient understanding of the reason for medication, its proper use, common side effects and appropriate outcomes of drug therapy.
  4. Assure availability, preparation and control of medications.
  5. Perform precise and exacting mathematical computations such as dosage requirements based on weight.
  6. Provide drug information, drug therapy consultation and staff education relating to drug therapy.
  7. Supervise Pharmacy Technicians and direct pharmacy staff functions and duties in absence of Pharmacist in charge.
  8. Assist in the development and implementation of new programs.
  9. Assist in writing clinic operating procedures for the pharmacy.
  10. Assist in refill authorizations according to RRTHC Refill Protocol.
  11. Assist in abstracting prescription information into the patient’s EHR from the Pharmacy Software Program.
  12. Communicate effectively with patients and clinic staff.
  13. Perform inventory and order activities to maintain stock levels.
  14. Provide clinical guidance and counsel to other personnel, including in-service education.
  15. Participate in Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee on formulary changes
  16. Keep current with new techniques and laws relating to all aspects of the pharmacy field, 340B drug pricing and grant billing.
  17. Maintain good rapport with the Indian community and stay abreast of needs.
  18. Counsel patients while protecting their confidential health and drug information
  19. Access EHR for clinical review, proactively identify clinical solutions, and provide recommendations to healthcare providers based on this review
  20. Requires the ability to work with cross-functional teams both within and outside the department
  21. Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
  22. Solid clinical knowledge related to drug therapy and pharmaceutical care
  23. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  24. Proficient in computer software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, pharmacy management programs and electronic medical records.
