The Redding Rancheria is seeking a Family Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant. The preferred schedule for this position is Tuesday through Friday, 7:00am-6:00pm. Out of Area Differential Pay is available for this position to incentivize qualified staff to commute from a longer distance. JOB SUMMARY:

Provide services to patients within the framework of a practice agreement consistent with the “Nurse and/or Physician’s Assistant Practice Acts.”

REQUIREMENTS/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Family Nurse Practitioner-Graduate of an accredited Family Nurse Practitioner Program and posses a current and valid R.N. license.

1. Provide direct patient care services within the scope of a family practice physician assistant including out patient and low risk obstetric care. Meeting specific needs of the local Native American population in the health service area in accordance with supervising agreements and standardized care procedures.

2. Consult with physician medical staff on complex patient care issues.

3. Manage and document patient care in the Electronic Medical Record; including but not limited to: patient visit, electronic prescribing, lab and order management.

4. Assure that health education is provided with each patient encounter.

5. Assist in the development of Standards of Care for the medical department.

6. Provide required federal and state ambulatory patient care data on appropriate forms.

7. Obtains appropriate consultations when problems presented are outside the scope of practice or when unfamiliar with a particular aspect of patient care.

8. Participate in Quality Assurance (QA) and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities, including regularly scheduled department and provider meetings, case management, Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee, Drug Utilization and Review, clinical audits and peer review.

9. Advise the Medical Department Management Team of any situations that may adversely impact the efficiency of the medical department.

Medical Scribes are individuals trained in medical documentation who assist a provider throughout their shift. The primary goal is to increase the efficiency and productivity of the physician. It will be the responsibility of the Medical Scribe to annotate any dictated or written information for the treatment of patients following all local, state, and federal guidelines for documentation into the electronic health record system. Rheumatologist

JOB SUMMARY:

Provides specialized rheumatology care in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases and conditions related to the joints, muscles, and bones consistent with the philosophy of the Redding Rancheria Tribal Health System. This position involves developing and implementing treatment plans, including monitoring and evaluating treatment results.

REQUIREMENTS/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Licensed California Physician, Board Certified/Board Eligible in Rheumatology required.
  2. Demonstrated experience in the delivery of rheumatology care.
  3. CPR certification, ACLS, PALS certification preferred.

  1. Provide direct medical services within the scope of a Rheumatologist while demonstrating awareness and sensitivity to Native American health care needs.

  3. Perform and interpret diagnostic tests such as blood tests, X-rays, and ultrasound imaging relevant to rheumatic conditions.

Medical Scribe

The Redding Rancheria is seeking a Medical Scribe. The preferred schedule for this position is Monday-Thursday 7am to 6pm

JOB SUMMARY:

Medical Scribes are individuals trained in medical documentation who assist a provider throughout their shift. The primary goal is to increase the efficiency and productivity of the physician. It will be the responsibility of the Medical Scribe to annotate any dictated or written information for the treatment of patients following all local, state, and federal guidelines for documentation into the electronic health record system. The Medical Scribe will be responsible for clearly recording each patient’s symptoms, history, physical exam, sending referrals, ordering labs, ordering x-rays, and documenting the diagnosis. This position will have no direct involvement in patient care, but has an interdepartmental role in assisting nursing and front office staff.

REQUIREMENTS/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • One year experience in healthcare field preferred or minimum 2 year of college education with Medical Terminology, Anatomy, and Physiology coursework/degree.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  1. The primary role of the Medical Scribe is to assist the clinician with documentation of each patient’s medical chart during his or her visit.
  2. Accompanies the clinician into the patient examination area in order to transcribe a history and physical examination as given by the patient and physician.
  3. Documents any procedures performed by the clinician or nurses and printing the consent forms prior to the procedure, on the electronic medical chart.
  4. Is an expert in the use of various templates and documentation techniques available in the EHR system, and use these tools efficiently so individual encounters can be well documented, as well as accurately congregate data collected for statistical reports.
  5. Transcribes any consultations or discussions with family members and/or the clinician. Completes the patient’s chart by transcribing results of any labs, x-rays, or other evaluations. In doing so, the scribe continuously checks on the progress of this data in order to get the patient’s workup complete so that the clinician is able to make his or her decisions regarding that patient. Lists all proper diagnoses as well as any follow up instructions and prescriptions, as dictated by the clinician.
  6. The Medical Scribe is to order labs and order x-rays, with knowing how to add the patient to the x-ray schedule.
  7. Transcribe referrals during the visit while sending it to the correct specialty.
  8. Generating notes, excusal letters, and any other forms the clinician requires; in so being able to navigate the document library.
  9. The Medical Scribe is to know how to schedule a patient for future visits.
  10. The Medical Scribe is to be able to look up insurance, in assisting the front staff.

JOB SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Director of Nursing, works as an integral part of the healthcare team, responsible for the facilitation and delivery of high quality, direct patient care.

REQUIREMENTS/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Certification as Medical Assistant.
  • 2 years of related healthcare experience or education related to medical assistant.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Works as a collaborative part of the healthcare team to assist with initial admission of patients to the Health Center. 2. Responsible for the intake of patients for appointments, which includes verification of check-in procedures, review of medical screenings (depression, domestic violence), timely rooming, obtaining vital signs of patients (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, pain levels, oxygen saturations) ; confirms chief complaints/reason for visit ; reviews patient medical history, allergies, medications, and confirms information in Electronic Health Record (EHR).
3. Anticipates medical provider’s needs, and is proficient in set-up of medical procedures, including but not limited to, performing and/or preparing ordered lab specimens, procedural tray set-up for vasectomies, circumcisions, IUD placement/removals, sutures, casts, pap and pelvic examinations.
4. Responsible for data entry of patient information for compliance with quality measures (Quality Improvement Process (QIP); Government Performance and Results Act (GPRA), and Partnership Measures (as applicable) for facility reimbursement.
5. Assists with patient flow management- acts as a liaison to inform patients of current status, wait time, relays pertinent information to providers and is responsible to facilitate follow-up scheduling of appointments and/or rescheduling as needed.
6. Participates in patient education, ensuring the patient is provided resources to enhance understanding of medications, treatments, disease management, expectations and when to follow-up if needed. Assist with providing explanation of treatments and procedures at the start of applicable appointments.
7. Proficient and responsible for the delivery of routine immunizations, including the ability to perform rights of medication administration (right drug, dose, route, reason, patient, time, documentation), the ability to identify appropriate injection sites (adult / well-child); and adhere to antiseptic technique with medication preparation and delivery.
