The Redding Rancheria is seeking a Administrative Assistant I- Government Affairs. This is a part-time position with a flexible schedule needed.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Government Affairs Administrative Assistant I will play a vital role in supporting the government affairs team by providing administrative and logistical assistance. This role offers a unique opportunity to engage with key stakeholders, participate in the legislative process, and contribute to the Tribe’s strategic objectives.
REQUIREMENTS/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associates degree in Political Science, Public Administration, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and familiarity with database management.
- Ability to travel to offsite locations for Redding Rancheria Government Affairs related events.
- Computer skills and experience with a variety of word processing and spreadsheet software.
- Demonstrated typing skills of 30-40 wpm or more and the ability to operate office equipment.
- Previous experience in government affairs, public relations, or administrative support is a plus.
- Must pass background screening.
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening.
- Indian preference.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
- Maintain a flexible schedule, which includes evenings and weekends, to attend/speak at political events when need arises.
- Manage calendars, schedule meetings, and coordinate travel arrangements for government affairs team members.
- Prepare and edit correspondence, reports, presentations, and other documents with a high level of accuracy and professionalism.
- Assist in building and maintaining positive relationships with government officials, industry associations, and advocacy groups. Act as a liaison between internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments relevant to our industry. Summarize key points and provide timely updates to the government affairs team, enabling informed decision-making.
- Conduct research on policy issues, legislation, and emerging trends that impact the Redding Rancheria. Synthesize complex information into concise summaries and actionable recommendations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of interactions with government officials and external partners. Assist in the management of databases and tracking systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information, provide support for government affairs initiatives, and contribute to company-wide projects as needed.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality at all times.
- Assists manager with administrative tasks, such as sorting mail, responding to email, creating PowerPoint presentations, scheduling zoom meetings, maintaining Government Affairs calendar, voicemail, etc.
