The Redding Rancheria is seeking a Medical Scribe. The preferred schedule for this position is full-time and 4 ,10 hour shifts.

BASIC JOB PURPOSE/FUNCTION:

Medical Scribes are individuals trained in medical documentation who assist a provider throughout their shift. The primary goal is to increase the efficiency and productivity of the physician. It will be the responsibility of the Medical Scribe to annotate any dictated or written information for the treatment of patients following all local, state, and federal guidelines for documentation into the electronic health record system. The Medical Scribe will be responsible for clearly recording each patient’s symptoms, history, physical exam, sending referrals, ordering labs, ordering x-rays, and documenting the diagnosis. This position will have no direct involvement in patient care, but has an interdepartmental role in assisting nursing and front office staff.

REQUIREMENTS/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. One year of experience in a healthcare field preferred or minimum 2 year of college education with Medical Terminology, Anatomy, and Physiology coursework/degree.
  2. Must be fingerprinted and pass background check.
  3. Must pass pre-employment drug screening.
  4. Indian preference.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  1. The primary role of the Medical Scribe is to assist the clinician with documentation of each patient’s medical chart during his or her visit.
  2. Accompanies the clinician into the patient examination area in order to transcribe a history and physical examination as given by the patient and physician.
  3. Documents any procedures performed by the clinician or nurses and printing the consent forms prior to the procedure, on the electronic medical chart.
  4.  Is an expert in the use of various templates and documentation techniques available in the EHR system, and use these tools efficiently so individual encounters can be well documented, as well as accurately congregate data collected for statistical reports.
  5. Transcribes any consultations or discussions with family members and/or the clinician. Completes the patient’s chart by transcribing results of any labs, x-rays, or other evaluations. In doing so, the scribe continuously checks on the progress of this data in order to get the patient’s workup complete so that the clinician is able to make his or her decisions regarding that patient. Lists all proper diagnoses as well as any follow up instructions and prescriptions, as dictated by the clinician.
  6. The Medical Scribe is to order labs and order x-rays, with knowing how to add the patient to the x-ray schedule.
  7. Transcribe referrals during the visit while sending it to the correct specialty.
  8. Generating notes, excusal letters, and any other forms the clinician requires; in so being able to navigate the document library.
  9. The Medical Scribe is to know how to schedule a patient for future visits.
  10. The Medical Scribe is to be able to look up insurance, in assisting the front staff.
  11. The Medical Scribe is to aide in management of QIP measures.
  12. Performs other clerical duties and tasks to improve provider productivity and clinic workflow as assigned.
  13. Ensures medical record compliance by self-documentation attestation.
  14. Other duties as assigned.

Registered Dental Assistant

The Redding Rancheria is seeking a Registered Dental Assistant. The preferred schedule for this position is Monday- Thursday 7 am to 6 pm.

JOB SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Assistant Dental Director, provides a range of clinical administrative and staff support to the dental services operation. Assists in the performance of dental and radiography procedures; prepares and maintains dental equipment and supplies in accordance with established protocol, procedures, policies, and standards, and assists in the coordination of day-to-day patient administration, records management, and office support activities.

REQUIREMENTS/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Current California State Board of Registered Dental Assistant License.
  2. Radiography Certification.
  3. CPR certification required.
  4. Tuberculosis screening, Hepatitis A & B.
  5. Pit and fissure sealant certification
  6. Must pass pre-employment drug screening.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  1. Performs all skills as defined by the RRTHC Scope of Services
  2. Set up appropriate instruments for procedures.
  3. Assist Dentist with fourhanded dental procedures.
  4. Perform sealants and coronal polish procedures at the direction of the Dentist.
  5. Learn staff dentists preferences for procedures and materials as required to work with multiple Dentists daily.
  6. Seat a patient and take vitals.
  7. Preview medical histories for the dentist, including any pre-medications.
  8. Prevention of transmission of infectious diseases. Required to stay up to date with current universal precautions and sterilization techniques.
  9. Expose diagnostic radiographs in accordance with safety standards.
  10. Dental imaging producing high quality images including radiographs, intraoral photographs, and extraoral photographs for diagnostic records.
  11. Perform laboratory duties, including impressions and pouring models.
  12. Patient impressions for lab processed prosthetics as directed by the Dentist and coordinated with outside labs.
  13. Responsible for maintenance of dental equipment.
  14. Schedule needed repairs of dental equipment and coordinate with technician to reduce impact on patient care.
  15. Sterilize instruments; disinfect and organize examination rooms.
  16. Weekly spore tests of sterilizers and maintenance of logs to meet AAAHC standards and presentation of documentation in audits.
  17. Provide preventative dental education to clinic patients.
  18. Review provider instructions with patients regarding home care and return visits.
  19. Present post-op instructions and denture care instructions independently.
  20. Oversees daily operation of back office functions in coordination with staff dentist.
  21. 21. Data entry in the electronic dental record, electronic health record, and excel spreadsheets for tracking dental health metrics.
  22. Dental supplies: ordering, stocking, tracking of shipments, and control of costs.
  23. Initiate referrals with the PRC department, checking eligibility, documenting treatment plans, and guiding patients through the referral process.
  24. Responsible for tracking referrals to specialist and follow up appointments.
  25. Communicate in a professional manner with specialist’s office by phone, email, or fax as required.
  26. Scheduling of all appointment types: hygiene, procedures, and exams. Timing and placement of appointments must be optimized to keep dentists schedules efficient, productive, and manageable.
  27. Current knowledge of dental coding, maintained yearly with CDT updates and applicable ICD codes.
  28. Coordinate with billing coder in correct use of CDT codes for procedures performed by the dentist.
  29. Review insurance and check eligibility as needed with front office staff.
  30. Provide administrative support for staff dentists.
  31. Rotate among other Redding Rancheria health campuses when needed.

Rheumatologist

The Redding Rancheria is seeking a Rheumatologist.  The preferred schedule for this position is 4 10 hours shifts (specific days to be determined).

JOB SUMMARY:

Provides specialized rheumatology care in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases and conditions related to the joints, muscles, and bones consistent with the philosophy of the Redding Rancheria Tribal Health System. This position involves developing and implementing treatment plans, including monitoring and evaluating treatment results.

REQUIREMENTS/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Licensed California Physician, Board Certified/Board Eligible in Rheumatology required.
  2. Demonstrated experience in the delivery of rheumatology care.
  3. CPR certification, ACLS, PALS certification preferred.
  4. Must be fingerprinted and pass background check.
  5. Must pass pre-employment drug screening
  6. Indian preference.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  1. Provide direct medical services within the scope of a Rheumatologist while demonstrating awareness and sensitivity to Native American health care needs.
  2. Diagnose and treat a wide range of rheumatic diseases and conditions, including arthritis, autoimmune diseases, and lifestyle modifications.
  3. Perform and interpret diagnostic tests such as blood tests, X-rays, and ultrasound imaging relevant to rheumatic conditions.
  4. Record patient chart entries in Subjective, Objective, Assessment Plan (SOAP) format, following RRIHS policies, and Medicaid and Medicare guidelines.
  5. Assure that health education is provided with each patient encounter.
  6. Assist in the development of Standards of Care for the medical department.
  7. Provide required federal and state ambulatory patient care data on appropriate forms.
  8. Obtains appropriate consultations when problems presented are outside the scope of practice or when unfamiliar with a particular aspect of patient care.
  9. Provide out-of-clinic patient services as determined with Executive Director of Health Services, including but not limited to, procedures, surgeries, deliveries, newborn care, hospice care or home visits.
  10. Participate in Quality Assurance (QA) and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities, including regularly scheduled department and provider meetings, case management, Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee, Drug Utilization and Review, clinical audits and peer review.
  11. Advise the Medical Department Management Team of any situations that may adversely impact the efficiency of the Medical Department.
  12. Monitor patients to determine efficacy and potential side effects of medications.
  13. Maintain interdisciplinary treatment by reviewing treatment plans and progress; consulting and collaborating with primary care physicians, mental health therapist, nurses, and other health care providers.
  14. Assure quality of care and safe service practices for patients and staff by adhering to policies, procedures, standards, rules, accreditation requirements, and legal regulations; participating in utilization reviews; remaining available for emergency consultations.
  15. Maintain historical records by documenting symptoms, medications, and treatment events; record patient chart entries in accordance with RRTHS policies and Medicaid and Medicare guidelines.
  16. Expand job knowledge and remain up-to-date on current rheumatology practices and treatment modalities by participating in continued educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining professional networks.
  17. Assist FNP-C/PA-C and other mid-level clinic providers by providing consultations; care presentations, chart reviews, on-the-job training, and peer review.
