The Redding Rancheria is seeking a Human Resources Supervisor.
JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Human Resources Manager and the Sr. Director of Human Resources the Human Resources Supervisor will perform and lead the routine functions of the Human Resources Generalists including hiring and interviewing employees, oversight of new employee orientation, performing background checks, and enforcing company policies and practices. Provides supervisory support to the Human Resources Generalists.
REQUIREMENTS/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be fingerprinted and submit to and pass background screening for FBI, State of California DOJ and become Custodian of Records.
- Applicants cannot have a felony conviction.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.
- Proven working experience as HR supervisor or three or more years’ experience working in the human resources field preferred.
- Management experience required.
- Experience with data entry and high level of accuracy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent public speaking skills and trainer skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- PHR/SHRM-CP, required or obtained within 2 years of hire.
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening.
- Indian preference.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Under the direction of the Human Resources Manager and Sr. Director of Human Resources, this position develops and implements HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
2. Oversees the daily workflow of the Human Resources Generalists.
3. Creates and fosters a positive and efficient work environment within the Human Resources Department.
4. Trains Human Resources Generalists to provide operational and administrative support for recruiting, onboarding, and other HR related programs for all staff.
5. Creates, updates, and implements workflow processes as needed for the department.
6. Performs and oversees the job posting, recruitment, interview and onboarding processes.
7. Under the direction of the Sr. Director of HR, this position may provide support with employee relations.
8. Ensures that employees in job positions requiring background investigations have been processed in accordance with hiring policies. Completes live scan fingerprints, conducts and reports thorough record searches and background investigations, that provide comprehensive information needed to make suitability determinations.
9. Performs background screening interviews when applicable.
10. Oversees new employee orientation program content and delivery (HR, policies, benefits, computer, safety, time tracking).
11. Oversees and performs the facilitation of six-month probationary period/ Trial Service evaluations.
12. Develops and assists with updating the most applicable and relevant interview questions for all Redding Rancheria positions.
13. Advertises employment opportunities by attending local events as a representative of the Human Resources Department.
14. Creates internal documents pertaining to employee changes such as schedule changes, budget codes alterations, campus transfers etc. Coordinates with supervisors to acquire appropriate approval for changes (in accordance with internal policy) and facilitates the implementation of approved changes into the HRIS system.
15. Completes employee separation of employment procedures according to legal and internal policy standards. This includes coordination with payroll to process and issue final checks with accuracy.
16. Ensures HR compliance for accreditation on a regular basis.
17. Supports current and future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation and preservation of human capital.
18. Works closely with the HR Manager to oversee, facilitate and develop the Tribal Youth Employment Program.
