Financial Analyst

This position is primarily responsible for the financial side of the budgets and the supervision of the payroll, per capita and pension cycles.

Requirements/Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors in Accounting or Finance, C.P.A., or MBA preferred.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word; experience with MIP accounting software a plus.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in an accounting environment; accounting experience in a governmental environment preferred.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screening.
  • Indian preference

Accountant II

Under the supervision of the Controller this position performs a variety of accounting support functions for the Redding Rancheria Tribal Government Finance Department.

REQUIREMENTS/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or at least five years of experience in similar accounting positions.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screening.
  • Indian preference.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  • Perform and/or review any of the following accounting tasks: accounts payable, accounts.
  • Follow general accounting principles of governmental fund accounting
  • Ensure proper accounting in accordance with the established policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a detailed working knowledge of the funds and programs.
  • Review and reconcile details of business transactions.
  • Prepare journal entries.
  • Prepare reports and perform research in support of accounting functions.
  • Facilitate review and reporting practices in support of reporting cycles and deadlines.
  • Keep current on grant compliance requirements and reporting.
  • Prepare supporting documentation for grant activity.
  • Prepare documentation in support of the annually audited financial statements.
  • Produce accurate and timely financial statements for management.
  • Communicate with others in the department.
  • Apply analytical skills and maintain organization.
  • Proficiency with various office equipment and applications.
  • Support other functions within the department as needed.
  • Manage confidential information in a secure, discreet and professional manner

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to perform complex tasks and to prioritize workload
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to develop and maintain record keeping procedures
  • Ability to operate computerized accounting and business office applications.
