The Redding Rancheria is seeking an Accountant II- Health Clinic Specialist. The preferred schedule for this position is Monday – Friday 8 am to 5 pm.
JOB SUMMARY:
Directly responsible for the daily reconciliations and preparation of reporting for all clinic facilities for Medical Self Insurance, Medi-Cal and Medicare. Submits prepared reconciliations and reporting for final review to Director of Financial Services and works closely with the billing department to ensure that Third Party collections are maximized. Assists as needed with coverage and overall support within the entire billing department.
REQUIREMENTS/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor degree in accounting or at least five years of experience in similar accounting positions.
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening.
- Indian preference.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
- Month End reconciliation of Third Party Collections.
- Monitor and reconcile Nextgen entries.
- Analyze financial information and Third Party transactions for accuracy.
- Assists in the year end reconciliation, audit and tasks as requested by Finance Management.
- Manages daily credit card processing, including gathering documentation for Third Party transactions.
- Work with Finance on credit card payments for credentialing.
- Processes TPA claims, insurance claim cash withdrawals, administrative billing and RX payments.
- Reconciles balance sheet assets and liability accounts.
- Assist in CHEF preparation and the reconciliation process.
- Assists as needed for backup of CHEF filing process.
- Preparation for review of annual Medi-Cal Reconciliation reports per facility.
- Preparation for review of annual Medicare cost reports per facility.
- Complete quarterly Medicare Credit Balance reports for review.
- Assists with McKesson and Henry Shein purchase orders, packing slips and invoices.
- Maintain sub ledgers of all self-insurance accounts for audit back-up.
- Ensure proper accounting in accordance with the established policies and procedures.
- Processes and prepares incoming checks reconciliation, posting and recording deposits for final review.
- Responsible for coordination and development of any projects or events for the health facilities that involve financial transactions and tracking.
