Wellness Coordinator

The job of Wellness Coordinator was established for the purpose/s of cultivating interest and encouraging employees to create and maintain a healthy lifestyle.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
1. Develop and implement effective wellness program for employees of the Redding Rancheria Tribe.
2. Coordinates with Sr. Director of Human Resources and COO the ongoing operations of the Redding Rancheria Wellness program
3. Design, compile and market current wellness activities through the Redding Rancheria for the purpose of keeping employees up to date regarding current wellness activities that support all levels of health
4. Develop and maintain a plan to distribute wellness information (goals, activities, etc.) for the purpose of relaying information and promoting the wellness program.
5. Evaluate wellness participation satisfaction for the purpose of providing a method for determining success of wellness program.
6. Develop, monitor and follow wellness budget guidelines
7. Prepare regular activity and participation reports for the purpose of monitoring effectiveness and efficiency of wellness program.
8. Build relationship with employees to support each person on their wellness journey.
9. Provide a variety of Activities to encourage all employees to participate.
10. Works with committees within the community representing Redding Rancheria such as: Healthy Shasta, Bike Month etc.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
1. Knowledge of planning, coordinating and conducting a diversified fitness and wellness program.
2. Knowledge required performing basic math, including calculations using fractions, percents, and/or ratios; reading technical information; composing a variety of documents, and/or facilitating group discussions; and solving practical problems.
3. Specific knowledge-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include; health standards and hazards, safety practices and procedures, telephone etiquette, concepts of grammar and punctuation.
4. Experience in fitness testing, measurements and exercise prescriptions.
5. Specific skills required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: preparing and maintaining accurate records; operating standard office equipment using pertinent software applications, internet and email.
6. Ability to effectively schedule a number of activities, meetings and/or events; other gather, collate, and/or classify data; and use basic, job-related equipment.
7. Ability to be flexible; required to work with others in a wide variety of circumstances; analyze data utilizing defined but different processes and create informational and statistical reports on the status of the wellness program.
8. Ability to work with a significant diversity of individuals and/or groups.
9. Independent problem solving is required to analyze issues and create action plans and present those plans, ideas and/or recommendations clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.
10. Ability to be attentive to detail; maintain confidentiality; meeting deadlines and schedules; setting priorities; establishing working relationships; and strong verbal and written communication abilities.
11. Ability to work under limited supervision leading, guiding, and/or coordinating others; and directing the used of budgeted funds within the wellness program.
12. Science based nutritional experience

REQUIREMENTS/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor’s degree preferred in exercise science or a related area
2. CPR/AED certification;
3. 1 to 3 years of clerical experience
4. Be dependable, reliable and possess organizational skills
5. Possession a valid and current California Driver’s License
6. Must have reliable transportation
7. Possess two to five years current experience working directly with health and wellness promotion programs. Experience working with corporate wellness is highly desirable
8. To perform this job successfully, an individual should possess intermediate level knowledge of personal computers and software including Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Publisher in addition to proficiency with Internet Explorer. Working knowledge of Access helpful but not required.
9. Certifications in Personal Training or Fitness Specialist helpful but not required.
10. Must pass pre-employment drug screening

Human Resources Manager

The Redding Rancheria is seeking a Full-Time HR Manager.

JOB SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Senior Director of Human Resources, the Human Resources Manager will lead and direct the routine functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices. Acts as a liaison between supervisor and employee to oversee employee relations including disciplinary action and employee complaints. Provides various trainings to management staff, including management/leadership training to oncoming supervisors.

REQUIREMENTS/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent public speaking skills and trainer skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Associates Degree in Human Resources or related field, BA preferred.
  • Proven working experience as HR manager or five of more years’ experience working in the human resources field.
  • PHR/SHRM-CP, required or obtained within 1 year of hire.
  • Must be fingerprinted and submit to and pass background screening for FBI, State of California DOJ and become Custodian of Records

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Developing and implementing HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
  • Bridging management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances or other issues.
  • Oversees all the daily workflow of the department.
  • Creating and fostering a positive and efficient work environment within the Human Resources Department.

  • Ensure legal compliance throughout human resource management and consults legal counsel to ensure that policies comply with federal law.
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with Redding Rancheria policy.
  • Creates, assess and monitors learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
  • Provides effective management and leadership trainings to oncoming supervisors.
  • Facilitates Management Support Team meetings as well as provides various and frequent Human Resources trainings to our Management Support Team.
  • Responsible for the operations of the Human Resource Department in absence of the Human Resource Director. Will exercise discretion and independent judgment to make decisions and provide direction and leadership.
